Austin, Texas songwriter Teri Joyce sings the songs that built the honkytonks and writes the songs that will keep them standing. She’s truly a singer’s songwriter, and her songs have found themselves in the hands and hearts of the hometown’s coolest: Marti Brom, Ted Roddy, Roger Wallace, Susanna Van Tassel, Karen Poston, and Dee Lannon for starters. And Teri’s exuberant stage presence and honest country voice have delighted crowds for almost a decade, with both her original classic songs and the country gold that she loves to mine.

Teri’s professional country road was paved in 1996 when she joined super showman Ted Roddy in forming the Tearjoint Troubadors, with Teri as rhythm guitarist and featured vocalist alongside Ted and fellow ‘Teardrop’, the engaging Karen Poston. Teri soon formed her own band as well, Teri Joyce and the Tagalongs, a versatile outfit of pickers which has included such Austin A-Teamers as Jim Stringer, Dave Biller, Lisa Pankratz, and Brad Fordham. And standing tall beside her at the mic is the incomparable Roger Wallace, whose celebrated duets with Teri bring down the house at Ginny’s Little Longhorn Saloon and beyond – the Tagalongs have enjoyed three European tours so far, with more road time to come.

And though Teri is small in stature, she likes a big show, and proves it all the more with the beloved ‘Hey, Loretta!’ tribute she stages in April at the landmark Continental Club. Austin’s finest country gals past and present gather to honor the songs of Loretta Lynn , among them such longtime Loretta fans as Lucinda Williams, Kelly Willis, and Toni Price. Visit again right here for the latest word on the Loretta show, Tagalong news, or anything else Teri might get hold of, ‘cause you know it’s gonna be good!

I've got a blue tattoo,
brand-spankin' new
It's a pretty, little bitty
work of art
I got this blue tattoo
when I lost you,
and it's burnin', burnin'
right over my heart

Let me thank you, dear
for my souvenir
of a crazy night
I got drunk on love
and I woke up with a
